A Puddle Seeps into the Ground, 2023

A bare webcam sensor, stripped of its lens, was planted in the ground. It was watered and soiled in order to loosen the earth and attract nearby life. These are the microscopic visions of the dissolving substances that appeared at the “point-of-contact” of oxidative stress and microbial encroachment, merging with the sensor as the hardware was devoured by the earth. The footage is presented at 4× speed to align the geological pace of decomposition with our own perception.
* Couldn't get a proper installation view picture for this one. It was projected on a scuffed-up wooden "screen", which gave it some extra texture, and served as the only light source in its section of the gallery, its slowly shifting colors bouncing back on the entire space. More of a curatorial decision than proper installation, I guess.
